DAVID ADAMO: 3 DAY EVENTING

David is drawn to the challenge of mastering the disciplines of dressage, show jumping and cross country riding. He was the captain of the UC Davis Eventing Team, and graduated with a BS in Agricultural Science and Management. A Level 3 ICP certified instructor, David is a certified cross country-course designer with the United States Eventing Association and from 2006-2008 served as USEA Area VI (California) Chairman.

David has worked extensively with Brian Sabo and USET team member and FEI judge Jim Graham. Other strong influences on his riding and training include Jimmy Wofford, Mark Phillips, Karen O’Connor, Christopher Bartle, Lilo Fore for dressage, and Susie Hutchison and Anne Kursinski for show jumping.

David first trained at Hawkwood in 1993, where he was given an off-the track Thoroughbred mare to train. With David, Layla competed successfully at the Advanced Level and was ranked the # 7 mare in the country. In 2012, David returned to Hawkwood after spending five years competing and training on the East Coast circuit. Since returning to California he has brought three more horses to the CCI* level.

LORI FIELD: HUNTER/JUMPER

Lori is Hawkwood’s jumper trainer. Since 1992, she has had her own business, Ridgetop Ranch, training amateurs of all levels; before coming to Hawkwood, she managed her own barns in Mendocino County and Marin County. Lori is proud to have trained her son Jeff Fields, now a successful Grand Prix rider, and her daughter Nikki who competes in the high amateur jumper classes.

Lori developed her distinct style of training using her years of experience as a rider. She instinctually spots small changes that make a big difference in riding skill, and communicates clearly to her students. As a trainer she provides one on one coaching as well as small groups lessons. Her lessons are not only productive but a lot of fun as well.

Events and Shows

Hawkwood horses and trainers are accomplished competitors at both home and away shows. Hawkwood hosts riding clinics, both dressage and jumping, as well as educational seminars for our boarders. Our grounds are also used to host clinics, visiting trainers, and organized shows
